There’s something truly magical about watching the sun melt into the sea on a sunset cruise. While planning a perfect day in paradise, what is a better way than to end it at sea during the sunset hours?

The sky becomes a canvas of brilliant hues – magical oranges, soft pinks, bold reds and hints of blues and purples – as the golden sun slowly fades beyond the horizon, a worthy spectacle. With Tropical Adventures Antigua , you can experience this enchantment aboard their elegant Mystic Sunset Cruise — a romantic, relaxing, and visually stunning way to end your day on the island. This is an absolute must-do.
Setting Sail: A Warm Caribbean Welcome
The experience began around 4 PM at the Tropical Adventures office in Saint John’s where the staff warmly welcomed guests and checked us in. Once completed, we boarded the spacious and sleek Mystic catamaran. Docked in the marina, the vessel welcomed us with the rhythmic sounds of Caribbean music drifting in the air.
From the onset, you know this cruise is about to be a moment to remember, the warm welcome from the crew onboard, the sweet, sweet songs of soca and of course the locally mixed rum punch. We were ready!
Shortly after, we set sail towards Dickenson Bay, to collect more passengers from the nearby resorts. The vessel was filled with laughter, joy, and just people ready to enjoy what this cruise has to offer, that unmistakable Caribbean Joy. From the honeymooners celebrating new beginnings, to the families on their annual island getaway, and even locals enjoying their own slice of paradise. This was the way to end the day – everyone came together to share this moment.
The crew members demonstrated their safety procedures and we set sail once again towards the stunning southwest coast of Antigua. Once we were well into the sail, as the Caribbean people would say, “the vibes min tun up!”. Drinks were being poured, servers serving from the open bar. People scattered in their group chit-chatting and just enjoy as the coastline glides by. Along the way, finger foods were shared. The atmosphere was truly relaxing but fun. There was space for everyone from the wallflowers to the party-goers.
And yes, the crew kept the bathrooms spotless — a small but very appreciated detail that added to the overall comfort and luxury of the experience.
A Sunset Stop at Deep Bay
We made a scenic stop at Deep Bay, near the Royalton Antigua Resort & Spa. The crew invited us to disembark and enjoy the beach—swim, take photos, or simply dip our toes in the warm Caribbean Sea. It was a welcome pause that let us connect more deeply with the natural beauty of Antigua.
As we set sail once more, the mood remained warm and relaxed. The music kept playing, guests mingled freely, and that famous Caribbean sunset began to unfold before our eyes.
As the sun dipped low, casting golden light over the sea, the entire boat seemed to slow down in reverence. Conversations quieted. Cameras came out.
The sunset was breathtaking a glowing finale to an already perfect evening. It was the kind of moment that reminds you why you came to the Caribbean in the first place. For just $85USD you can have this experience too. Contact us for booking.
